More Than 150000 Textile Related Enterprises Have Been Added In China This Year

Recently, the China industry and enterprise competitiveness research center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences released the "industrial blue book: China's Industrial Competitiveness Report (2020) No.9" (hereinafter referred to as the "report"). According to the report, the competitiveness of China's textile and garment industry has the following characteristics:

First, from the static point of view, clothing products and textiles still have strong competitiveness, which is more prominent from the perspective of export alone; second, from the perspective of development trend, the rising trend of international competitiveness of textiles is obviously slow; third, developing countries represented by Vietnam, India and Cambodia have become strong competitors of China 。

At present, there are more than 1.32 million manufacturing enterprises engaged in textile, textile clothing and clothing in China. Among them, over 70% of the relevant enterprises have registered capital below 1 million, and more than 60% of them are individual businesses.

In terms of geographical distribution, Zhejiang Province has the largest number of textile related enterprises, about 224000, accounting for nearly 17%; Jiangsu Province ranks second, with about 204000 related enterprises, accounting for 15.4%; in addition, the number of textile related enterprises in Guangdong and Shandong also exceeds 100000.

According to the data of Tianyan professional edition, since 2015, the annual registration number of textile related enterprises has been more than 140000 (all enterprise status). As of November 24, 2020, based on the industrial and commercial registration, China has added more than 150000 textile related enterprises this year, an increase of 15.75% compared with the same period last year.
