Analysis On The Retail Sales Of China'S Textile And Garment Industry From January To October 2020: The Retail Sales Decreased By 9.7% Year On Year

According to the data of the National Bureau of statistics, in October, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 3857.6 billion yuan, up 4.3% year-on-year, 1.0 percentage points faster than that of the previous month. Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods excluding automobiles reached 3486.8 billion yuan, an increase of 3.6%. From January to October, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 31190.1 billion yuan, down 5.9% year on year. Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods excluding automobiles totaled 28142.8 billion yuan, down 6.0%.

In terms of textile and clothing retail, the total retail sales of textile and clothing in October 2020 reached 127.4 billion yuan, an increase of 12.2% compared with the same period last year. From January to October, China's total retail sales of textile and clothing exceeded 933.9 billion yuan, down 9.7% year-on-year.

From the perspective of the growth rate of textile and clothing retail sales, the growth rate of China's textile and clothing retail sales from January to October 2020 decreased by 9.7% year-on-year, which was 3.8 percentage points lower than the growth rate of social consumer goods retail sales in the same period.
